As Native people we are our own history book. We are stewards of the land, making it both our homes, place of life/growth and identity. We come from stories and people that have survived in these communities for thousands of years. Our ancestors come from the land and are in the dust that shifts from place to place. We are born to the land and when we go we are sent back to the earth. The land is our identity and without it we lose our history and our future. These places that all native/indigenous people’s call home carry a transference of cultural knowledge that’s being lost in many cultures/communities and is greatly needed at this moment in history.
